Martha was born in 1925 in Megyaszó, Hungary. She enjoyed a peaceful life with her family until Nazi Germany invaded Hungary in 1944. Within a few months, her family was forced to live in a ghetto. After a short time in the ghetto, they were sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Towards the end of the war, Martha and other inmates were sent on a death march, but were ultimately liberated by the British. She returned to Hungary where she found some relatives, but all of her immediate family had perished. Martha settled in New York where she married. She and her husband raised their three children in New Jersey. She has been living in California since 2016.
